What we promise you.
We have no reviews to show you, because we have not sold anything yet. So instead of asking you to trust a number, here is what we will actually do.
You see it before it is made
Nothing goes into production until you have looked at your Vello and said yes. When your preview is ready we email you a link. If something is not right, tell us what to look at and we change it. There is no cap on that. Unlimited revisions until you are happy is the promise, and the approval gate is what makes it possible: your artwork is still a file, and a file can be changed.
If we do not hear from you within 5 days we take that as approval and start production, because an order that sits unanswered forever helps nobody. We remind you on day 2 and day 4 first, and you can approve at any point before that.
Likeness comes first
Faces are softened in the Vello language. They are never distorted. Before your artwork goes anywhere near a printer a person compares it to your original photograph and checks likeness, hands, eyes, composition, background, colour and the signature. No artwork reaches production until a person has checked it against your photograph.
If your photograph is not going to work, we tell you before anything is created, and we say why.
If it arrives damaged, we make it again
Until your Vello is in your hands, the risk is ours, not the courier’s and not yours. If it arrives damaged, photograph it, including the box, and email hello@madebyvello.art within 14 days. We reprint and reship at our cost. You do not need to send the damaged piece back unless we ask.
Under Spanish law you have three years from delivery if an artwork turns out to be faulty. That is why we keep your print master for three years: so it can be made again.
We will not overclaim
A Vello is not hand painted, and we will never say it is. It is a contemporary artwork created from your photograph in the Vello painterly language, checked by a person and produced as a premium physical print. What is authentic is the provenance: made exclusively from your moment, documented by Vello, carrying a Vello ID tied to your order, your source photograph and the final master.
We will not describe a material as archival, sustainable or plastic free until a supplier document on file says so. We do not publish reviews we did not receive, counters nobody is counting, or deadlines that are not real.
And your photograph
It is used to create your Vello, and nothing else. We delete the source photograph 30 days after your Vello is delivered. We never run facial recognition on it. We never use it in our own marketing unless you tick a separate box asking us to. The privacy policy sets out every retention period in full, and you can ask us to delete your photograph sooner at any time.
Before you order
Free cancellation with a full refund until the studio starts creating your artwork. After that your Vello exists only because you asked for it, so it cannot be cancelled. What you have instead is the approval gate above.
